# CloudVikings

> CloudVikings is a Dutch provider of domain names, DNS, hosting and business e-mail from Uden, the Netherlands. It is a reseller, not a registrar itself: domains are registered via the accredited registrar Realtime Register. DNS, hosting and e-mail run on its own servers in Europe. Customers manage domain names, DNS, hosting and mailboxes in Mijn CloudVikings, by themselves, through their web agency, or through their own AI assistant via MCP. Every login needs a second factor (passkey or authenticator app) and every change, order or go-live is confirmed again. AI assistants and agencies can only propose; the customer approves.

Key facts:

- MCP server: `https://mijn.cloudvikings.nl/mcp` (Streamable HTTP, OAuth; listed in Claude's connector directory at https://claude.ai/directory/connectors/cloudvikings, and in the official MCP Registry as `nl.cloudvikings/mijn`). Works with Claude (claude.ai, desktop, Claude Code) and other MCP clients such as ChatGPT, Cursor and VS Code.
- With the connector an assistant can: check, register and transfer domain names; read and change DNS (ready-made recipes for Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, DMARC); build a website and publish it at once as a free 14-day Proef; build and run a web application from a Dockerfile (optional PostgreSQL 18 or MySQL 8.4 and Redis) on a test environment; forward domains; propose mail domains and domain aliases, mailboxes (personal or shared), aliases, group addresses and their removal (never seeing or setting passwords).
- Without approval an assistant may only update a test environment or a free Proef. Going live, DNS changes and orders wait for the customer's approval with a passkey or authenticator app (business customers can set a monthly budget for domain orders).
- Hosting: Proef (free, 14 days, preview address, not indexed), Site (static website on your own domain, test and production, rollback) and App (web application in a gVisor sandbox with its own network per environment). Sites and Apps can follow a GitHub repository: every push goes to test. Sites can have contact forms without a form service elsewhere: the form posts to Mijn CloudVikings and messages are mailed to an address of the organisation (kept 30 days, only from the site's own addresses, not on a Proef). Apps can copy production's database and /data to test with one click; a test environment without visits for 30 minutes sleeps and starts again within seconds when opened. Apps can have workers and scheduled commands (cron); owners get alerts for failed builds, stopped apps and unreachable domains (checked every five minutes). Prices below.
- E-mail (CloudVikings Mail): mailboxes on your own domain in three packages (10, 25 or 50 GB per mailbox), webmail at webmail.cloudvikings.net, IMAP (imap.cloudvikings.net:993), SMTP (smtp.cloudvikings.net:465 or 587) and JMAP, a calendar and address book per mailbox (CalDAV/CardDAV), up to 20 aliases per mailbox, shared mailboxes (one inbox such as info@ that colleagues open with their own login and send from, in a package) and free group addresses (team@, to mailboxes of the same organisation) and domain aliases (a second domain for the same mailboxes), the mail domain itself free. With the DNS at CloudVikings one recipe sets MX, SPF, DKIM, MTA-STS, TLS-RPT, autoconfig/autodiscover and SRV; elsewhere the customer proves control with a TXT record and sets the records shown. Moving existing mail: on request CloudVikings copies the mailboxes over (Microsoft 365 through a consent link, other providers over IMAP), price below; or the customer copies it with a mail program. DANE: TLSA records on mx1/mx2.cloudvikings.net, kept equal to the served certificate; it applies to customer domains whose zone is DNSSEC-signed (on by default with DNS at CloudVikings). Servers at Hetzner in Falkenstein, Nuremberg and Helsinki; encrypted backups at Wasabi Amsterdam. In the webmail (Bulwark): mail deleted for good (also after emptying the trash) can be restored by the user for 30 days (Settings, Recover deleted items), search also finds words in attachments (PDF, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), a colleague can be given access to the mailbox, calendar and contacts in one step (Settings, Sharing), files are kept with the mail (Files in the webmail, or as a network drive over WebDAV at webmail.cloudvikings.net/dav/file/<address>/, counted in the package's space), filter rules run on the server (Settings, Email filters; Sieve), and colleagues are chosen from the organisation's own address book (only the own organisation), with meeting invitations landing in their calendar. On the account page (webmail.cloudvikings.net/account, in English) users see which apps signed in over OAuth (Connected Applications, with last use) and revoke one at once without changing the password; make up to five masked addresses on their own domain (Masked Addresses) that refuse mail once switched off; and can store new mail encrypted with their own OpenPGP or S/MIME key (Public Keys, then Settings), readable only with their private key in a mail program such as Thunderbird or Apple Mail: the webmail shows only the subject, the sender and an encrypted attachment, search on the content stops working, and a lost key means that mail cannot be read. A removed mailbox leaves the mail server at once (no login, mail to it is refused, the address is free again); it cannot be restored and its data is wiped within 30 days. Prices below. DMARC reports: the DMARC recipe sends aggregate reports to dmarc-reports@cloudvikings.net by default; the DNS page then shows per sending server (named where known) how much mail was sent as the domain and whether it passed, with advice; a monthly health check mails what needs attention (expiring domains, wrong mail records, missing SPF/DMARC, failing DMARC, apps down). Forwarding mail to an address outside CloudVikings is deliberately not offered (forwarded mail increasingly lands in spam or is refused); use a mail app, a group address or a shared mailbox instead.
- Domains: 700+ TLDs, DNS included with DNSSEC, nameservers at three providers in NL, DE and FR. A transfer of .nl or .es is free; other extensions cost a year, the same as registration.
- Activity log: hash-chained, with an hourly checksum anchored in immutable storage and published on https://cloudvikings.nl/verankering/.
- Data in the EU: servers at Hetzner (Germany, Finland), backups at Wasabi Amsterdam with Object Lock.

- E-mail per mailbox per month: Basis (10 GB) € 3.03, Zakelijk (25 GB) € 5.45, Pro (50 GB) € 9.08; yearly for the price of 10 months. The mail domain itself is free.
